Our Story

It all started with a problem: how to get great coffee at work without lugging half the kitchen with me. I was grinding beans at home, packing them in a little container, and carrying a bulky French press into the office. Let’s just say it wasn’t the smoothest setup.

So we set out to create a smarter solution—specialty Brazilian coffee in drip bags. Same quality, none of the hassle.

But here’s the thing: we’re not just another startup. Our beans come from a family of roasters in Brazil who have been perfecting their craft since 1945—the year WWII ended. They already roast for major private-label brands in Brazil and the US, and drip coffee bags are huge in Japan. Now, we have the privilege of bringing this tradition to Australia.

I (Carlos) bring my own mix to the brew: a Bachelor in Social Communication, postgrad in Foreign Trade, and years as a barista—all skills that help keep our operations smooth, our logistics tight, and our coffee consistently amazing.

And the name? Jurerê. It comes from Y-Jurerê-Mirim, meaning “little mouth of water” in Tupi-Guarani, the language of the first people of Brazil. It’s also a beautiful coastal spot in Santa Catarina, where our coffee is roasted before making its way directly to you in Australia.

At the end of the day, we’re here for one reason: to make sure you don’t have to compromise on coffee, whether you’re at your desk, on the go, or just too busy to deal with grinders and plungers.
